2017’s charity was Terry’s choice, Shepshed Community First Responders
For 2016 we’re supporting Wayne Johns’ Pinball Marathon appeal which is collecting for Prostate Cancer Awareness. You can read all about it here on his JustGiving page. Wayne has just broken the Guinness World Record for endurance pinball playing, with a massive 30 hours of World Poker Tour.
2015’s chosen charity was Shepshed Community First Responders
In 2014, Shepshed Lions Club worked with the East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) to create and lunch a community first responders scheme.
The Community First Responder (CFR) scheme is a life-saving partnership between EMAS and Shepshed Lions Club.
First responders help provide emergency life saving care to patients. They are charities founded and run by volunteers who give up their spare time to attend appropriate 999 calls directed through EMAS control.
Whenever the Cracker is held at Well, Lincolnshire, the chosen charity for is the Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance; we hope that in the future you can help us raise money for this worthy cause again and beat our previous best of £637.50.
The Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance is a dedicated medical air service which first began operations in Lincolnshire in April 1994. Based at RAF Waddington, south of Lincoln, and unaffected by road congestion, country roads, heavy vehicles or road-works the Helicopter can reach any destination in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire in 19 minutes. Every year they fly approximately 1000 missions and in April 2010 completed their 12,000th mission.
